Yoga ClassesRestful, Beginner, and Intermediate Yoga Restful Yoga is about self-observation through the enjoyment and practice of yoga. Self-observation is using meditative awareness for recognizing, releasing, and removing stress so that the student leaves the class feeling restful and rejuvenated and then takes what he learns in class into his daily life. This class is excellent for beginner yoga students, people dealing with stress, and senior citizens. Stress is a major cause of our illnesses because it causes our body to get out of balance. Balance is what all of God's creation is striving for. Not only are we humans striving for balance in our daily life, our body is striving for balance in order to stay healthy as it is meant to be. For our body to find its natural balance, our energy, our blood, and our breath must be able to freely flow through our body. In yoga we call this energy "prana," or "the life force." In Chinese it is called "chi." Wherever there are tensions in our body, this life force is blocked and cannot freely flow, causing our bodies to get out of balance. In Restful Yoga the student works at his/her own level to work out these areas in the body that are tight and tense. While the instructor leads the class through relaxing exercises, deep breathing (breathing is the essence of the practice), and easy-to-learn stretches (asanas), the student will enjoy finding his natural balance at his own pace. After having completed the Beginner's Yoga class the student is invited to take the Intermediate Yoga class. Instructor: Julia
Power (Ashtanga) Yoga Ashtanga Yoga, or Power Yoga, is a routine of asanas that develops physical and mental stamina using the breath as the bridge between the body and mind. Ashtanga yoga is a faster paced style of yoga and the postures are little more advanced. Using the deep breathing (ujjayi) and flowing from one asana to another are the main differences between Power Yoga and other yoga styles. This class is for the yoga student who wants a more challenging yoga practice. Instructor: Julia NOTE: This class is not currently offered. Please contact us if you are interested in having the class restarted.
YogaBall This yoga class is done with a burst-resistant ball that is the correct size for the student. The ball gives the student an opportunity to move in ways and to places that one cannot do without the ball, while improving one's balance. Instructor: Julia

Pilates is a system of stretching and strengthening exercises developed by Joseph Pilates in the early 20th century. The Pilates philosophy focuses on training the mind and body to work together toward the goal of overall fitness. It was designed to work the deepest muscles in the body, creating a strong core without the pain associated with conventional exercises. The muscles are stretched while being strengthened so there is no tearing of muscles. There is no impact on the joints and the number of repetitions is low so the muscles are not pushed to exhaustion. Pilates Presentations available!
Some of the benefits of Pilates include:
