Spring Yoga Retreat Thoughts

The Spring Yoga Retreat at Leeland Valley was a such a comfortable and relaxing experience. It's nice to stay in such a friendly and open atmosphere, and escape the stress of the outside world. Some of the features offered were time for nature exploration, yoga lessons, healthy meals, and a campfire. You have opportunities to ask detailed questions about yoga, such as how to properly come in and out of a position. Julia also takes time to ask for advice on how to better everyone's yoga experience. Everyone owes it to themselves to reunite with nature at a yoga retreat.

Dear Julia,

I had SUCH a wonderful time at the retreat this weekend!  How good the fire smelled when I arrived Saturday, and the coals were just right to put the baking potatoes in for their crispy skins and soft insides.  Perfection.

Indulging in Yoga stretches with a gentle breeze wafting through the trees, and the birds talking to us was truly delightful and calming.

The first high point of the evening for me, after the delicious meal of salad, yummy corn on the cob, and aforementioned baked potatoes, was roasting the perfect marshmallow over the fire!  Ashley finally got a perfect one after flinging several burning ones into the fire, and Michelle was quite a patient champion.  I must have eaten 8 or 9 of them!

It was a good thing actually, because it fortified me for the cold night on the ground under a perfectly clear starry night.  I don't know how long it's been since I've done that, but with enough padding and blankets, I was toasty warm and snug "as a bug in a rug."

The dogs were so protective that no wildlife could come near us, or Michelle and Ashley in their tent. A bright sunny morning greeted us as did Julia and David with a breakfast of oatmeal, fresh fruit, coffee, tea, and orange juice.  We tried not to eat too much since we were going back to the lovely meadow by the wide, gurgling creek to have another 2 hours of serenity and peace with yoga.

There is NOTHING like yoga on the grass, with a breeze, a creek, and trees nodding their bird filled branches.  It was sublime.

We all hope you will do this again soon, so more of us can come and enjoy your wonderful hospitality and warmth as you share your lovely home and land.

Thank you so very much for such a lovely gift.

 Love,

 Marilyn Crooks
